Look 986 2010 SRAM X0 bike

Lightness, comfort and ease of use are the main features of the 986. Owing to the use of high modulus (HM) carbon fiber, in its conception, single shell and tube to tube, the engineers have optimized the frame's weight. The bases and braces have a specific design that improves comport over bumpy terrain. The new saddle stem and elastomers allow the fitering of vibrations and absorb shocks which create fatigue as the miles roll by.

my first ride with pontiancyclingdude in 2010

I was unable to ride regularly together with my friends because of certain circumstances that hard for me to avoid. But today I was lucky to ride with my buddies again. One of the reason is I am sending my car to my mechanic (John, Buyung's bother) so I took this opportunity to ride with them. I was surprised to know that Bogor also doing his first road cycling. Picture above shows Bogor looks very proud with his new road bike.
Buyung, our group captain looks cool and calm before the ride.
We stop halfway to do some quick adjustment on Bogor's bike
Even though this is Bogor first road cycling, he was very impressive and can follow our peddling easily
As usual we look for a restaurant for breakfast . We had a tasty soto today.
On my way back, my bottom bracket making some weird sound. The sound really disturbing me and I was unable to ride the bike fully. As we reached our destination, Buyung quickly check the BB and found out that the right BB was a little loose. After tightening it, the sound gone. Although the ride was short today (45km), the ride was fun and I am hoping to ride again with them regularly.

    G Shock DW-6900MS Military Inspired

This newly bought G Shock DW6900MS belongs to my friend, Megat. After we had a good discussion on what current G Shock models that is a good buy to start off, I suggested him to buy this Military Inspired 6900 series which I believed will be great for beginner or long time G shock follower.
Even though this model was not a limited edition series, I found out that the watch is becoming hard to find in our local watch shops.
The watch has a 1289 module inside and has been made in Thailand.
The number (1289=module number) on the band really add some military look to the watch.
The red letters on the ring was perfect. Here's some translation from the official G Shock Japan website about this watch:

Popular street design standard G-SHOCK darkness of the color from the theme of "MAT BLACK RED EYE (Red Eye Matte Black)" appeared.
Matt uses a black whole, adopting the image of coloring activities in the moonless night. LCD LCD and also reversed the direction of unity with the body. The reversal of the red LCD is easy to see in the dark, EL backlight when the lights to ensure adequate visibility in the emission. New Black finished in cool tones model.
If you look more closely to the picture above, The Frogman MS doesn't have the same matte black as the DW-6900MS. The frogman surprising has black/silver metallic like color on it. Even though they are from the same series, they are both different even in color. I hope this G Shock DW-6900MS will not be the last G Shock watch he bought. May he be in great health wearing this beauty...

Azizulhasni Awang takes gold in World Cup Keirin

World silver medallist Azizulhasni Awang of Malaysia has captured World Cup keirin gold at the final event of the four-leg series in Beijing.

The 22-year-old collected sprint silver in Pruszkow last year but in the Laoshan Velodrome - site of the Olympic track cycling competition in 2008 - it was the keirin in which he excelled.

He proved too strong for Australian rivals Jason Niblett and Daniel Ellis, who took silver and bronze respectively.

Awang's victory ensures he shares the overall World Cup series crown with Germany's Maximillian Levy as both cyclists finished with 22 points from the four events.

    Caisse d'Epargne to pull sponsors

Caisse d'Epargne will not renew their sponsorship deal with the ProTour team led by Vuelta a Espana champion Alejandro Valverde when it expires at the end of the season, hinting at the team's doping links, the French bank's parent company BPCE said.

BPCE CEO Francois Perol was quoted by French radio on Friday as saying Caisse d'Epargne would focus on Olympic sponsorship as it shares the same "values" as the bank.

"There will be a Caisse d'Epargne team competing in this year's Tour de France but the deal will come to an end in 2010 and it won't be extended," Perol told Radio Classique.

Caisse d'Epargne have sponsored the cycling team since 2005. The bank will now support French athletes competing in next month's Winter Olympics and in the 2012 Games in London.

"We became the banking sponsors of the French Olympic committee at the very beginning of the year and we will support France teams in Vancouver and in London and we will also support Annecy's bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics," Perol said.

"This decision was taken on managing grounds as we feel we share the same values as those championed by the Olympic movement," he added.

Team leader Valverde (pictured) has been barred from competing in Italy since May for alleged links to the Operation Puerto anti-doping investigation.

CONI have said that blood samples Valverde gave at a doping control when the 2008 Tour de France entered Italy for a stage matched DNA from code-named bags of blood discovered in Operation Puerto.

The Spaniard has always stated his innocence.

    Mario Cipolini ISD-NERI bicycles

The ISD-NERI Cycling Team presentation took place today on the outskirts of Verona at the beautiful Villa Quaranta. Mario Cipollini was on hand to present the "Cipollini" bicycles that ISD-NERI will be using this season.

At the presentation Cipollino revealed how he became involved in creating a Cipollini frame. "In a chance encounter with Federico Zecchetto, founder of Giordana and DMT, the idea arose of producing high-end bicycles. From that day we are working tirelessly, with an engineer for the design and with an Italian company for production of the bicycle. I have made available my name but above all my 30 years of experience in the saddle. We are sure that the that the finished product is the best the riders could ask for.

Sidi Ergo 2 limited edition 50th anniversary

To celebrate this anniversary, the company from Treviso has produced a limited edition Ergo 2 Carbon shoe which confirms itself as the top of the line model in the Sidi Sport collection.

Ergo 2 Carbon 50 features new graphics and an elegant design. It also introduces the new, hand-made Carbon Lite Sole, designed and developed using a mix of composite materials that can maximise the resistance of a sole that undergoes long periods of stress during high performance, while at the same time making it lighter and crush proof. Ergo 2 Carbon 50 graphics are essential and elegant. The all white uppers are embellished with golden trim, the Sidi logo and the unmistakable green white and red Italian flag, making this shoe an authentic jewel of design and technology.

Meticulous attention has been paid to every detail in order to further add to the prestige of this special edition model. This shoe is destined to become a collector’s item for all cycling fans, who can close their eyes when they wear them and imagine for a moment that they are living and breathing all the magic and excitement of Sidi’s last 50 years. Sidi was founded in 1960 as a workshop and laboratory for making sports shoes, and it has grown to greatness through the feats of champions like Hinault, Moser, Fignon and Kelly. These pioneers were followed by Saronni, Hampsten, Fondriest, Zulle, Indurain, and Ballerini, and then 2 time national champion and Olympic gold medallist Bettini, continuing on to today’s champions which include Basso, Pozzato, Freire, mountain bike ace Absalon and the king of the Tour, Giro and Vuelta, Alberto Contador. Starting with the 1973 Titanium model up to the 2010 Ergo 2 Carbon, Sidi’s secret continues to be summed up in technology, design and comfort. It’s been 50 years of passion and great victories, all for the love of sport. This tradition continues to make us a top player, thanks to the ongoing dedication of the Signori family, with daughter Rosella and son Daniele, and the entire Sidi staff working side by side at the new headquarters in Maser (Treviso) which was inaugurated in 2008, where concept, development and manufacturing of great shoes all come together in one place. Yeti 303 RDH Tapered Bike

The 303 RDH has been one of Yeti’s most popular DH bikes to date. Born last year on the race circuit, the RDH was designed to excel on courses with fast turns, berms and anywhere you might get the bike up in the air. It has a light, lively feel that makes is easy to pop off lips and turn in tight sections.
Like its older sibling, the 303 DH, the new design uses linear rails to create an ideal shock rate for downhill racing. The single pivot swing arm design is simple and strong it to run shorter rear stays for quick turning prowess in varied terrain.
By optimizing the frame tubing, linear rail and links, Yeti was able to make the frame light and strong. It has met their highest gravity testing standards in the lab and all-importantly…on the trail.
Nice details abound this frame: a replaceable, co-molded chain stay protector keeps the bike quiet and protects the frame, the linear rail has laser etched sag markings to make suspension set-up a breeze, the geometry of the frame is easily adjusted with a 5mm bolt and the rear suspension is easily accessible for tuning.

  • Patented 303 linear rail technology
