Colnago C59 - 2011

For 2011 Colnago does it again. No one could imagine it could get better than the C50, no one thought it could get better that the EPS, and now here it is, The C59 ITALIA. Bringing back that classic Master-shaped ribbed main tubes and squaring off the rear chainstays for the maximum in stiffness, but having the comforts of the fully lugged,100% Custom carbon fiber. Tapered headtube give the front of this bike that stiff racer quality, with the steering confidence of a Lamborghini.

Offered in 22 sizes, and six colors, your not buying just a bike, your buying a custom suit. Balanced handling is vital too. Colnago invented modern bicycle racing geometry and has refined it to perfection with handling that is unwaveringly accurate but stable at speed, so a long day in the mountains is a battle against the gradient and your rivals, not against a twitchy bicycle.

    Carbon made bicycle price hike

The three main suppliers of carbon fiber, Toray Industries, Inc., Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd., Toho Tenax Co. have increased their price a huge 66% according to news coming out of Eurobike.

It’s not yet clear how this will affect the 2011 prices for carbon fiber frames, forks and other bike components but this new price development will surely have a big impact. Pinarello, as an example, uses Toray fibers.

This may be the best time to go out and buy that 2010 Italian bike you have been lusting after.

    Yeti 575 25th Anniversary

The 575 has been making rough trails smoother for the last five years and has been the most successful bike in the history of Yeti. Why? Well, there are a number of reasons: it is light, has loads of travel (5.75”), is efficient and descends well. But most importantly, it rules on rough terrain.
At the heart of the 575 is Yeti’s Active Suspension system that is made for trail riding. The longer travel makes it easier when climbing rocky, rooted, nasty terrain rather than fight your way through the obstacles, you can sit back, pedal and let the bike do the work.
The seat angle has been designed to put you in an efficient pedaling position, so you have full power when going uphill. And the geometry is neutral and predictable, so you don’t have to worry about things getting skittish if you bring it up to speed.
On the descent, the 575 is a dream. It is designed with an active mid-stroke in the suspension so you can feel the bike’s full travel, especially when encountering square-edged bumps. It’s low bottom bracket and perfectly balanced suspension makes fast cornering, even in rough terrain, easy and controlled.

  • Trebec helmet

Swedish company POC were showing off a new mountain bike trail lid, the Trabec, at this year's Eurobike trade show.

Available in two guises – the Trabec Race and Trabec – the helmet takes aesthetic cues from the likes of Giro’s Xen and Fox’s Flux, extending down to cover the back of the head. The Race version has more outer protection than the standard model. Hope to see this helmets here soon.

    Hari Raya Hamper

I know this is not related to my blog purpose, but I just want to share something that I think good. I also like to play play guitar as a hobby. I bought a few good musical instruments at C & M music centre. I usually hang out with my friends at C & M which I found the staff (Zam and the boys) really helpful and friendly and to be honest I was a little shock when I received this hamper from the store yesterday. Here's some pictures of the hamper with fender guitars and Twin reverb amp at the background...
