Campagnolo electronic gear

Campagnolo has announced that the Spanish Movistar team will be the first and only professional squad to use the Italian company's new electronic gear system in 2011. Standing by the bike are Valentino Campagnolo and Fausto Pinarello. At first look, the Campagnolo system seems very similar to the Shimano Di2, with wires replacing the gear cables and with the gear changes powered by a battery positioned on the down tube, below the bottle cage. However, instead of buttons to change gear, there are curved gear levers on the inside of brake hoods. The battery, levers and gears are labeled Campy Tech Lab, the name given to Campagnolo development division.

Fizik Muzzle

The rubber shield is designed to protect your saddle from crash damage, plus it’ll keep it in good nick during uplifts and provide general scuff protection. The price should be almost the same as the saddle itself

Time RXR Ulteam Module Plus

Note: "Module Plus" includes matching VIP handlebar, fork, headset, seatmast, stem, and bottle cage.

In this "VIP" edition of the RXR Ulteam frame, Time has made an elegant statement on what a beautiful bike can achieve. Finished in gloss black, all logos have a dark blue sheen that shows a subtle glimmer in the sunlight. With this clearcoat finish, you also save 40 grams over the painted version!

Drawing inspiration from the World Championship-winning RXR Chrono, the RXR Ulteam road bike is their stiffest, most efficient race bike to date. Each tube has been optimized for performance and aerodynamics resulting in a SCx (product of frontal surface by air penetration coefficient) among the most favorable in the industry.

This frame is the result of the best, most cutting-edge carbon manufacturing techniques of the cycling world. This machine has been optimized down to the smallest details; Time employs their special in-house carbon design and manufacturing in constructing even the smallest parts out of their own carbon weave: bottom bracket shell, one-piece fork, fork dropouts, stem with CMT insert, and even bottle cage bolts are all produced by Time's factories in Europe.

The RXR Ulteam uses the new Safe+2 fork with multi diameter steerer guaranteeing strength, light weight and stability with exceptional steering precision. The Time patented multi diameter steerer, with Time's specific oversize lower bearing guarantees total security with outstanding resistance to shock.

The RXR Ulteam uses a new optimized "Translink" aerodynamic shape seat tube with 3 cm of saddle height adjustment. This design not only increases lateral stiffness, but is also 35 grams lighter than the traditional seatpost. The RXR Ulteam also offers 2 front derailleur height options for compatibility to the broadest gearing ranges.

RXR Ulteam Features:

  • Sloping geometry in 6 sizes
  • Optimized tube designs in HM Carbon with Vibraser liquid crystal polyamide fibers and aramid fibers.
  • Full carbon lugs
  • Optimized full carbon bottom bracket shell

  • Di Luca race again

Danilo Di Luca has had his two-year doping ban reduced to 15 months by an anti-doping tribunal at the Italian Olympic Committee.

Di Luca was banned after testing positive for EPO-Cera after finishing second in the 2009 Giro d'Italia.

However, his collaboration with investigators probing doping in cycling has led to a reduction in his sentence that was initially set to run until July 2011.

Di Luca said he had spoken to the prosecutor in Padua "to explain the methodologies that I've seen".

The 34-year-old, who won Liège–Bastogne–Liège and the Giro in 2007, is cleared to race immediately and has been linked with a move to Geox who will take over sponsorship of ProTour team Footon-Servetto in 2011.

    Bike stolen from Hotlines' show

Thieves broke into the gallery where Hotlines have been holding their London show and stole thousands of pounds worth of bikes early this morning.

They took a prototype Nuke Proof downhill bike (more on this later today), top-end Lapierre mountain bikes including the new DH Team, a Ghost SE 5000 hardtail and Lynskey Helix titanium road frame.

The bikes were taken at around 3.30am from the Dray Walk Gallery, just off Brick Lane. They're easily recognised – see below for details – and Hotlines are offering a reward for information leading to their retrieval.

    Yeti 575 carbon

The 575 has been making rough trails smoother for the last five years and has been the most successful bike in the history of Yeti. Why? Well, there are a number of reasons: it is light, has loads of travel (5.75”), is efficient and descends well. But most importantly, it rules on rough terrain.
At the heart of the 575 is Yeti’s Active Suspension system that is made for trail riding. The longer travel makes it easier when climbing rocky, rooted, nasty terrain rather than fight your way through the obstacles, you can sit back, pedal and let the bike do the work
The seat angle has been designed to put you in an efficient pedaling position, so you have full power when going uphill. And the geometry is neutral and predictable, so you don’t have to worry about things getting skittish if you bring it up to speed.
On the descent, the 575 is a dream. It is designed with an active mid-stroke in the suspension so you can feel the bike’s full travel, especially when encountering square-edged bumps. It’s low bottom bracket and perfectly balanced suspension makes fast cornering, even in rough terrain, easy and controlled.

  • 5.75" travel
  • Custom hydroformed 7005 alloy tube set
  • Carbon rear triangle
  • Integrated carbon seat stay bridge stiffens rear end
  • Full carbon or carbon/aluminum swingarm
  • Yeti pure custom butted/tapered tubeset
  • Custom sealed bearings
