As many of you know we are tight with the MASH SF crew and helped them build their first prototype, the one you see in the photo, for the Interbike tradeshow last September. It was definitely the nicest track bike at the show and they were up against the likes of Colnago, Pinarello, De Rosa and others. We would expect nothing less from the likes of Benny Gold, Mike Martin and Garrett Chow.

Lay-up optimization: The structure of Colnago’s EPS tubing and lugs have been upgraded with the help of CAD design. Colnago uses ultra high and high modulus (HHM-HM) unidirectional composite with a 3K twill finish. Switch Technology is an optimized dual-link design that utilizes an eccentric mechanism that switches direction as the bike moves through its travel. Built into a compact assembly, the eccentric creates a micro-link that continuously repositions the lower pivot of the swing arm, alloing Yeti to create a suspension system with no compromises.

Efficient pedalling. At the beginning of the travel the eccentric link is rotating in a rearward direction, guiding the lower pivot of the swing arm rearward. This counter-clockwise motion coupled with the initial rearward wheel path creates an excellent pedalling platform, making the SB-66 pedal and climb crisply without sacrificing small bump sensitivity.

Responsive mid-stroke. The flat linear shape of the leverage ratio coupled with Switch Technology allows the bike suspension to bo more responsive, especially in the mid-stroke level of the travel. This essentially creates a larger "sweet spot", keeping the rider higher in the travel throughout that portion and allowing the suspension to react better to bigger hits. There are no unexpected spikes or wallows so cornering and jumping feel comfortable and consistent throughout the travel.

Continuous Travel. Once the SB-66 reaches the inflection point(about 100mm into the travel), the eccentric link starts to rotate in the forward(clockwise) direction. This means the rate at which the chain stay grows [dCSL] drops off quickly, allowing the suspension to work independently of chain forces and pedal feedback. Because the suspension isn't being impeded by chain growth in the last third of travel, the smooth feel in the middle of the stroke continues all the way to full compression without a harsh bottom out feeling

Running from Saturday July 2^nd to Sunday July 24^th 2011, the 98^th Tour de France will be made up of 21 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,430.5 kilometres.

Maybe some of us may not knowing that this year Criterium Du Dauphine will starts in a few days from 5th-12th June 2011. This race is always used as a preparation for the upcoming grand tour de France on July 2nd. I am not very sure exactly when will we be able to watch the race live but usually you can follow the race on Astro Eurosports channel 814 starting at 8.00 or 9.00pm daily

I was invited for this welcome ride for Acong new Cannondale bike. Unfortunately I was unable to join the group. However I do showed up where they supposed to meet up at took some pictures. From left Megat, Botak, Fauzan and Acong.

Acong new Cannondale Flash 4 Lefty

Early this morning I have been invited to take some pictures of Acong new bike, a Cannondale Flash 4 lefty. Since this is a rare chance for me to see the lefty bike. In fact, this is the first lefty bike in our cycling group.

The lefty shock was handmade in USA with 100 travel as stated in the picture above.

A strange looking lefty steerer bike but the technology has been introduce years ago. I believe the price was not on the affordable side of many mtb kaki.

Having lefty front fork, the choice of changing the wheelset is not many. Not many bicycle shop here carry this type of wheelset unless you make a special order.

This Cannondale Flash 4 frame is made of carbon fiber.

Although many riders choose a full-sus bike or a 29er wheel bike as their choice when upgrading, Acong still choose hard tail.

The Prologo X10 looks good with similar color scheme to the bike. No feedback so far from Acong for the saddle.

The RD that come with the bike was the latest carbon X9 10 speed.

The cockpit was very neat and very straight forward. The red cat eye was a gift from the bike shop.

One of my buddy who very passionate with bicycle is Megat. He really good at taking care of his bike and consistently upgrading his bike component with the latest technology that money can buy.

The chosen wheel hub probably one of the noisiest hub available in the market.

He said that the reason he bought this SID race fork is the color match perfectly with his BMC bicycle.

The famous No Tubes ZTR Alpine, another inexpensive good upgrade choice.

Baby G Seaman BGW-101

I am not usually buy Casio Baby G. But this time it's different. Even in the Internet, the information about this watch is not very helpful. So by providing some pictures I hope this post will be useful for others. The Baby G watch box above is not the actual box for the watch. The seller gave me this box as a replacement. This is a Baby G Seaman.

Finding a Baby G Frogman is hard but getting a Baby G Seaman is harder.

It has thick buckle that I felt it is much better made compared to some G Shock.

Pictures above shows the sides of the Baby G Seaman.

The Baby G engraving looks perfect on top of the dial. It is hard to take pictures outside since it is raining heavily during that time plus the shining back ground doesn't help either.

This watch also has the same case back as the baby G Frogman but has the word Seaman instead of Frogman. The frog also wearing the bangle too. It uses a 2050 module and has been made in Japan A

The color is not black but more to grey

It has a blue illuminator light. The shark also appear every time you push the light button.

The dial looks identical to the G Shock Frogman. The watch is not as small as you think it was. Even though it was made for women, the watch is 43 in diameter.

Since their first introduction, Casio does not introduce new frogman/Seaman for the Baby G unlike G Shock they already have 5 new frogman model.

The shark does appear every 30 second on top of the dial as seen on the picture.

G Shock DW-5600EG-9 Fox Fire

I don't usually buy G Shock from local online seller. After offloading some of my collection due to personal reasons, the temptation of buying G Shock coming back after I met Bobostrobos who regularly sms me asking questions about G Shock. Last Friday I came across a local website who selling this pre-loved watch at an affordable price. I made a phone call to him and the rest is history.

The watch is professionally packed and what amazed me is that I also received a receipt for my purchased. Cool.

This is a G Shock DW-5600EG-9. Number 9 represents yellow color and uses a 1545 module. It is made in Korea C

The previous owner has replaced the original bezel and band with after market parts. That's why you see a white protection and G Shock wording on the bezel. The band also does not match with the model. Surprisingly he put a DW6600/DW6900 band on it. I still haven't decided yet whether I would replace the band or keep as it is.

I have owned a G Shock DW-5600EG-9 before but I have sold it long ago. I knew where to get the original band with gold buckle for it but the price was too high for me.

But this one is special. It has a Fox Fire instead of illuminator.

I am over the moon when I received the watch and does not clean the dial properly. The module and glass was still in great shape with no visible scratch on it.

The previous owner does not keep the watch manual or box anymore. I am considering myself very luck to own this watch.

This watch was released on June 1996 and has been discontinued.

I always looking for newer G Shock model when I surf the Internet but ended up with these three 0ld style G Shock model, the DW5600, DW6900 and DW6600. Maybe I just can live without it. Picture above shows my DW-5600EG-9 Fox Fire with his new friends.

After some time not hearing any news from my buddy Joren (pictured), I met him with his new bike, a Giant Trance X-1. The bike was so new that today is his first time riding the bike. The bike was finally built around 2am this morning. He must be having just 4 hours of sleep last night.

This bike has 5 inches of travel that is best for AM ride. I still cannot believe that Joren will go as far as equipping his bike with a 2011 Shimano XTR groupset. A Fox Talas should be capable and reliable for his endless journey

I personally like this color combination in this bike cockpit. The swing arm, pivot, Giant print and pedal looks contrast to this matte black bicycle frame. Great choice

My G Shock DW6900CS-4 BMX collaboration

I believe most of us do have fond memories about BMX. I am lucky to get the chance to make my own collaboration here between my Casio G Shock DW6900CS-4 and BMX. Although there is no real BMX bike to relate to this collaboration just a pink round neck T-shirt should be enough for me.

Some people especially male adult will stay away from pink related color. But for me pink is something special but you need a matching shirt to make it more appealing.

With Casio keeps introduce more color option in their line up, I would say that in some way people will accept the idea of having strange color appearance.

Most people I know still prefer black color G Shock. To make a change is not an easy task. If you stick to one color Gs then you will probably miss all the excitement. Btw, I am just a poor G Shock collector that my finance won't permit me to buy expensive limited edition G Shock. This is my attempt to make my own G Shock collaboration. Hope you like it

Suppose you pay a lot of money for a carbon bicycle, whether road or mountain bike. Your feeling tells you that a lot of money = lots of quality, right? Then you start riding but after a while your feel something wrong.

Or suppose you want to buy a bike through Ebay. Can you be sure that what on the surface looks like a gem is really flawless? Or they crash. Or worse, someone you loaned the bike to crashes but doesn’t tell you. How do you know the frame is still sound? The same applies after tightening the roof-rack clamp of derailleur clamp too tightly. On the surface, everything is OK but in reality the part is broken and only lasts a couple of days.

The AS-R Carbon has wracked up more awards than any bike in Yeti’s line. I t was recently chosen Outside Magazine’s “Gear of the Year”. It was a finalist in Bicyclings “Editors Choice” this year and won the award outright in 2008.
Why all the excitement? Part of the reason is the bike is really light, fast and supe-efficient. The carbon monocoque frame and suspension have been optimized for cross-country racing and the integrated seat mast saves weight and transfers pedaling forces more efficiently than traditional seat posts. End of Cannondale aluminium

The end of an era has arrived at Cannondale. All aluminum frame manufacturing has ceased in Bedford, Pennsylvania, and now the auction of equipment will take place on December 9, 2010.

It was in late 1996 when Saeco, international maker of pump-driven espresso and cappuccino machines, engaged Cannondale to sponsor its Italian-based Team Saeco professional cycling team. Cannondale became the first U.S. bicycle maker to supply frames under its own name to a European professional team.

The 1997 cycling season became very special for Cannondale. Mario Cipollini won five stages in the Giro d’Italia, and also won two stages at the Tour de France where he also wore the yellow leader’s jersey for four days. And from there...the rest is part of cycling history.

After a several year hiatus, the Ibis Hakkalügi cyclocross frame returns in all of its throat-clearing phlegmatic glory. This time around, we’ve added a few things and subtracted a few things.

Ibis has subtracted a lot of weight by making the frame out of carbon fiber. For you purists out there, sorry. For you weight weenies out there, you’re welcome.

Spain's Geox-TMC, the team of Denis Menchov and Carlos Sastre, have missed out on a ProTeam license for 2011.And Geox-TMC, who have taken over as title sponsors from Footon-Servetto, and Cofidis were the notable omissions.It means Russian Menchov, who was third in this year's Tour de France with former team Rabobank and 2008 champion Sastre will require an invitation to compete in the Tour plus the Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana as a UCI Professional Continental team.

The new Luxembourg Pro Cycling outfit, including Tour runner-up Andy Schleck, were registered along with Vacansoleil-DCM. Astana, BMC, Liguigas, HTC-Highroad, Euskaltel and Movistar - the latest incarnation of Caisse d'Epargne - also made the cut.

Ten teams had already had their licences approved: AG2R, Katusha, Lampre, Quick Step, Saxo Bank, RadioShack, Garmin-Cervelo, Omega Pharma-Lotto, Rabobank and Sky.

The complete list of UCI Professional Continental teams will be announced on December 10.

A yellow jersey worn by the late Marco Pantani during his 1998 Tour de France win has been stolen from a Milan exhibition.

The Italian cycling museum in Madonna del Ghisallo, which had lent the jersey to nearby Milan's bike and motorbike fair, has appealed for its swift return.

Pantani, the last man to win the Giro d'Italia and Tour in the same year, died in February 2004 aged 34.

Pantani, known as "the pirate" because of his swashbuckling style of racing and the colourful bandana he wore to cover his shaven head, was one of Italy's most popular sportsmen.

However, his career was overshadowed by doping scandals. He was thrown out of the 1999 Giro while leading the race for failing a blood haematocrit test - an indicator, though not proof, of the use of performance-enhancing drugs.

In 2002 he was suspended for six months after a syringe containing insulin was found in his hotel room during the 2001 Giro.

Campagnolo electronic gear

Campagnolo has announced that the Spanish Movistar team will be the first and only professional squad to use the Italian company's new electronic gear system in 2011. Standing by the bike are Valentino Campagnolo and Fausto Pinarello. At first look, the Campagnolo system seems very similar to the Shimano Di2, with wires replacing the gear cables and with the gear changes powered by a battery positioned on the down tube, below the bottle cage. However, instead of buttons to change gear, there are curved gear levers on the inside of brake hoods. The battery, levers and gears are labeled Campy Tech Lab, the name given to Campagnolo development division.

Di Luca race again

Danilo Di Luca has had his two-year doping ban reduced to 15 months by an anti-doping tribunal at the Italian Olympic Committee.

Di Luca was banned after testing positive for EPO-Cera after finishing second in the 2009 Giro d'Italia.

However, his collaboration with investigators probing doping in cycling has led to a reduction in his sentence that was initially set to run until July 2011.

Di Luca said he had spoken to the prosecutor in Padua "to explain the methodologies that I've seen".

The 34-year-old, who won Liège–Bastogne–Liège and the Giro in 2007, is cleared to race immediately and has been linked with a move to Geox who will take over sponsorship of ProTour team Footon-Servetto in 2011.
