Ricco returns

Italian Riccardo Ricco has said he is joining the Quick Step team from Ceramica Flaminia with immediate effect and hopes to be involved in the Vuleta a Espana later this month.

Ricco was banned for 20 months for doping at the 2008 Tour de France and returned to the sport with the small Italian team in March but missed May's Giro D'Italia because Ceramica were not invited.

The 26-year-old, impressive in minor races since his comeback, thanked his former team for letting him leave his contract.

"It was a great gesture allowing me to join a Pro-Tour team," Ricco, nicknamed "the Cobra", was quoted as saying by www.gazzetta.it.

    BMC Speed Fox

The APS system will always provide reliable suspension performance in any situation while ensuring efficient straightforward propulsion with no power getting absorbed by the suspension. The trailblazing and unique use of monocoque manufacturing of the bottom bracket reduces the weight and increases the rigidity for smooth distribution of power at this critical point. The basic principle of the Continuous Edge has been designed to provide a more homogenous distribution of forces along the frames profile and beyond the various frame sections, resulting in a uniform design language. After all, the speedfox 01 is an ingenious, light and extremely versatile marathon bike.
BMC iSC hydroformed triple butted alloy frame featuring APS suspension technology. Anodized finish with polished graphic element. Natural-born-post mount rear brake caliper mounting and initial load indicator for easy and hassle free suspension set-up.

  • Contador joins Saxo Bank-SunGuard

Three-times Tour de France champion Alberto Contador has signed for Denmark's Saxo Bank-SunGuard team on a two-year contract, team manager Bjarne Riis announced.
Spaniard Contador announced last week he would not renew his contract with Kazakh-funded Astana who he joined in 2008.

Contador won his third Tour de France title on July 25, finishing the gruelling three-week race 39 seconds ahead of Saxo Bank team leader Andy Schleck.

Luxembourg rider Schleck, also runner-up to Contador in 2009, and his brother Frank have said they will leave at the end of the season for a new team.

Saxo Bank will remain a co-sponsor of the team, which has also enrolled US software group SunGard as a co-sponsor, Riis and the bank said on Tuesday.

The announcement reversed a January decision by Saxo Bank to drop its sponsorship of the cycling team at the end of 2010.

Instead Saxo Bank will be a co-title sponsor for another year along with SunGard which signed up as a sponsor during the Tour de France.

"The team will be called Saxo Bank-SunGard Professional Cycling Team," Saxo Bank said in a statement.

"With these two companies committed to the team, we have a solid financial foundation for the future," Riis said.
