After some time not hearing any news from my buddy Joren (pictured), I met him with his new bike, a Giant Trance X-1. The bike was so new that today is his first time riding the bike. The bike was finally built around 2am this morning. He must be having just 4 hours of sleep last night.
This bike has 5 inches of travel that is best for AM ride. I still cannot believe that Joren will go as far as equipping his bike with a 2011 Shimano XTR groupset. Click HERE to learn more about Shimano 2011 XTR XC groupset. Picture above shows a XTR triple 10s crankset (42/32/24). It has a carbon/titanium for the middle chainring.
The latest XTR brake lever and rapidfire plus shifter looks awesome.
A Fox Talas should be capable and reliable for his endless journey
I personally like this color combination in this bike cockpit. The swing arm, pivot, Giant print and pedal looks contrast to this matte black bicycle frame. Great choice
Picture above shows the Ice Tech brake rotor. With the combination of XTR latest hydraulic brake and rotor, braking must be an easy task for him. He chooses a pair of reliable XT wheelset and Schwalbe Rocket Ron.
A garmin edge GPS based cycling computer will accompanying him all the way.
Even our chief, Rahman also take the chance to picture with this lovely bike.
An finally, I almost forgot about my buddy, Chua who also having a bike upgrading from GT to Trek Fuel EX7. Chua also looks fit and shave down his weight a lot since I first met him a year ago. Congratulation for both Joren and Chua for your new bikes. I am proud and at the time feels jealous too. But then again, I am a poor cyclist. Joren should get a nice G Shock to commemorate his new bike. And that does make sense right. Peace
