Pontian-Kayu Ara Pasung-G Pulai 2

Date: 21/12/2008 (Sunday)
Distance: 55km

Today we are supposed to cycling to Taman Teratai but we cycle to Gunung Pulai 2 instead. Group picture taken before the ride. From left Kemel, Gedo, Ancun, Azies, Buyung and me.
This picture was taken when we are waiting for Azies. Azies got a sti shifting problem that make his chain stuck in between the cassette and wheel.

The group pace lead by Kemel was quite high today. At average of 35kmh with an acceptable wind condition, the ride was fun and its quite difficult for me to take pictures. I will be left a bit far back after every picture taken. BTW these pictures were taken using my trusty Nokia 6300

We are at the junction in Parit SikomDuring climbing a small hill near Kg Sawah, Gedo has miss shifting and as a result his bike chain was loose from the front chainring. Picture showing some of us waiting for him near Jalan Masjid.
Today's ride was fun. Where ever you cycling. we hope you'll have the same feeling like we did. See you.

Kulai-Pontian

Date: 20/12/2008 (Saturday)
Distance: 76km

Today, Pontian cycling dude decided to cycle to Kulai. Since I am staying in Kulai I had to start early and meet the others in Pontian. The weather was great. Picture above showing the Parit Baru road early in the morning. I arrived at Pontian around 8.25am
This is a new pair of tubeless tyre. Yesterday evening Buyung got another puncture near Pekan Nenas while cycling there. Lucky for him to find a replacement. This yellow tubeless is quite odd for my taste but it turns out really good with a strong yellow colour.
Zizie and Kemel already wait for us at Parit Baru. Me and Buyung are a bit late coz Buyung need to send his wife to work first.
On our jurney to Kulai we have to fight with a strong head wind. Sometimes I felt my bike didn't move at all even during decending. Those three guys are quite strong today. I have difficult time even try to stick with their pace.
We had our pitstop at IOI mart Kulai. After refuelling and had enough rest we move on. They will cycling back to Pontian. From left Zizie, Kemel and Buyung

Cannondale F1000 SL Optimo

This Cannondale belongs to my friend who live nearby. The Cannondale F1000 SL Optimo were launch around 2006. Picture above showing the famous integrated head shock.
The frame originally been handmade in The US
I still remember that he bought this Ultra head shock directly from the UK
I believe the colour scheme for this frame is ment for team edition
I heard the upcoming Cannondale frame will be made in Taiwan insted, not from the US anymore. Only the higher end frames will be made in the states. Just like the other bicycle frame manufacturer

This bike has been going many transformation. The latest is installing the Shimano XTR Shadow 2008. Sweet.

Shimano Dura-Ace 7800 tested!!

Date: 19/12/2008 (Friday)
Distance: 29.34km

This morning I got a chance to test out the newest addition to my bike setup. Its a Shimano Dura-Ace 7800. The Sigma meter showing the actual ride distance. The Scott Stem already installed too. I really dig the shiny part.

The Shimano crankset really look stunning. For me the best part that can be easily spotted here is the awesome chainring. If compare to my Campy record the chainring is way better in terms of cosmetic but the Campy record have a carbon crank arm which is gorgeous. This Shimano Dura-Ace crank arm also can be easily scratch even paddling with clip paddle. Make sure your cleat has 0 degree angular freedom. otherwise your shoes will rub the crank arm....ooouch

For me the fd and rd looks no different like the other 105s and Ultegra. No carbon what so ever here. Totally bling-bling

The Dura-Ace sti shift better but I prefer Campy record shifter.

The front and rear brake. I feel that the Dura-Ace brakes is much better than Campy record.

Picture showing my newly upgraded Pinarello F3:13 with Shimano Dura-Ace 7800 groupset.

Shimano Dura-Ace

Shimano Dura-Ace 7800
Released in 2004 and made famous by Lance Armstrong which won his 6th TdF
Shimano Dura-Ace 7900

The latest from Shimano for 2009 also introducing more carbon fiber which in my opinion follow the foot steps of Campagnolo and Sram. I am not very familiar with Shimano product and have a very little experience about it. I will be more than happy if I can upgrade my 105 groupset to this 7800 series. The 7900 series will be too much for the sets of frame that I have right now.

Date: 14/12/2008.
Route: Kulai-Pontian
Distance: 60++km
I woke up early and prepare for cycling trip with other Pontian Cyling Dude member. A few of us will start cycling from Pontian, Cikgu Khairul will start from Simpang Renggam and we decided to meet up at Gunung Pulai 2. This is great. The weather was good for most of the weekdays and also yesterday...but suddenly the black clouds gathered and the rain started to fall and I stranded at home fully equiped so I end up doing this post. Another post about G Shock. I hope you don't mind
Another famous version in G-Shock man series is a MUDMAN series. I own a DW8400 and a DW9000 version. Picture above shows the back of my two Mudman. You can wear the watch and play some mud out side coz its mud resist...hehe

The DW8400 is much bigger when wearing compare to DW9000

The DW9000 was released around Nov 2006. There is also a new version of Mudman G9010 that was released this year with different dial but using the same bezel as G9100

The DW8400 was released around Nov 1995

The basic model of DW8400. Module 1289. Made in Malaysia

This is a Black Down 25th Anniversary. Released around 2007. Module 3031. Made in Thailand
