Riccardo Ricco's new Ceramica Flaminia outfit have missed out on being one of the 22 teams invited to compete in May's Giro d'Italia.
The Italian, banned for doping during the 2008 Tour de France, will return from suspension on Tuesday in the Settimana Coppi and Bartali race but looks poised to miss the Giro unless one of the invited teams pulls out.
Carmiooro-Ngc and Isd Neri were other notable absentees from the Giro list whileLance Armstrong's RadioShack will not be competing in the world's second biggest stage race having asked not to be considered.
