To honor those who became world champion on a bike of his mark, Wilier Triestina offered a new Cento 1 Alessandro Ballan (Lampre). Cycling of the new world champion is now the colors of the rainbow. Painted white, the framework has received some keys rainbow and a fork in the colors of gold. Alessandro Ballan launched its new bike last Sunday at the Tour of Lazio. It will use again on the big races to come, Sunday Paris-Tours and the Tour of Lombardy. Enrico Pengo, the engineer of the team Lampre but also the national team of Italy, has provided valuable assistance to adjust the bike to perfection. The Cento 1 Triestina Wili is designed carbon fiber 46 Ton with seatpost and bottom bracket included.
The ‘hero of Varese ’ bike paint job also includes a gold front end and fork.The Cento1 features an integrated bottom bracket and seatpost, asymmetric rear arms and an exclusive carbon fibre frame.Ballan first rode the bike at the Grio del Lazio and will continue to use the special presentation machine throughout 2009.
Alessandro Ballan will miss next month's Giro d'Italia after struggling to shake off a virus. The Italian, a surprise winner of September's world championship in Varese, had been ill for over month and said recently that the May 9 start in Venice could come too soon for him.A Lampre spokesman has now confirmed he will definitely not race the Giro as he has only just returned to training.
